A fifth and final building means the vision is complete and on Wednesday 22nd November, the campus was lit up all in blue for its grand opening alongside C4DI’s 10th anniversary celebration.

We welcomed over 100 guests from across the C4DI network, Hull’s business community and beyond, to hear about where we’ve come from, join in the celebrations, and check out the new digs!

The Wykeland Beal joint venture of the two highly-respected local companies won the Gold award for Best Mixed-Use Development in the prestigious WhatHouse? Awards, the Oscars of the housebuilding industry. Wykeland Beal also took the Silver award in the Best Regeneration Scheme category.

Wykeland Beal was honoured during a glittering ceremony attended by more than 1,300 professionals from the housebuilding and property industries at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, hosted by TV presenter Clare Balding and cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy.

The Gold and Silver awards recognise the transformation of the Fruit Market from near-dereliction into a thriving urban village under a £80m regeneration programme delivered by Wykeland Beal, working in partnership with Hull City Council.

A hugely popular eatery in Hull’s thriving Fruit Market has opened a new takeaway outlet to serve the rapidly growing community of workers in the area.

Nibble opened six years ago opposite the pioneering Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI) tech hub and has become a firm favourite with workers and visitors alike for its homemade breakfast, brunch and lunch specials and sweet and savoury delights.

With the nights getting longer and Christmas drawing nearer it’s already been two incredible weeks since we moved into our beautiful new home. For those of you who haven’t visited us already or aren’t familiar with the world of the co-working I thought I would give you an insight into the experience inside Hull’s new golden digital hub. Background

To begin with I’ll start with a little bit about myself; I graduated from university last year and now work as a member in C4DI’s team. Soon after graduating it became apparent to me that I really wanted to launch my own startup in the tech sector. As a philosophy graduate – I have had a lot to learn about business (and am still learning!). After doing a lot of research it became apparent to me that digital hubs were the place to be since they offered an environment most conducive for rapid learning, discovery, support and ultimately (hopefully), success.
