The UK automotive industry is having a bit of a moment. With sales, jobs, and turnover at an unprecedented high, there doesn’t seem to be much that can keep it down. However, in an increasingly technological world, where customers can order their lunch from their phones, send a virtual card from their desktop and check in to a flight before they even get to the airport, customers are expecting more and more from their online buying journeys, particularly when it comes to a lifestyle purchase, such as a car…
Can help with: Students and younger members wanting to integrate with the community, Software development.
I’m a student member of C4DI and currently in my last year of a Computer Science degree. I’m into all things tech, ranging from software development (mostly C#), to hardware and most recently blockchains.
I like to get involved in a broad range of events happening at C4DI and I’m also around when time allows so feel free to say hello and introduce yourself.
Can help with: running an event, getting to know the community, advice on starting up a business.
“Ey up! I really enjoy meeting new members and helping them bed-in at C4DI. I’m also passionate about promoting ‘Community IQ’ in order to help cross-pollinate ideas amongst us, after all, we don’t know what you know and vice versa! Having founded VENSERV to provide business development and angel investment for new ventures such as Hull House Group and BIMsense (2017 Digital Awards Best Start-Up), I fuse together creativity, innovation and relationship building to help develop new solutions, so am more than happy to become your sounding board too!”
Can help with: all things social media, getting to know the community, organising your own events.
“I work for a marketing company (eskimosoup) based in the co-working space as the resident social media expert amongst using other talents I’ve picked up working in the creative industries for half a decade. I have been a member of C4DI for just under two years now, can be spotted regularly in the office weekdays and try to attend most member social events where I can, so I’d like to think I know at least half an answer to any questions you may have or where to point you for a better answer! Feel free to Slack me, tap me on the shoulder or catch me in the kitchen if you need anything or just want to say hello!”
I’m a designer and animator based on the 2nd floor (Pace 2.01-03). I don’t get to participate in C4DI stuff as much as I’d like but when I’m around I’ll help anyone in any way I can. Feel free to say hello or ask me any questions if you see me around the place.
Can help with: getting to know the community, business networking, speaking to techies for non-techies
I help small-medium businesses with their I.T. needs by providing them with Managed I.T. solutions, ensuring they have email, backups of their data and general support, as well as all kinds of I.T. related “stuff”, that’s it for the geeky side of things. I volunteered for the “buddy” system as I thought it would give me a greater sense of purpose in life 😉 but other than that, I like being helpful, chatting to people and just generally having a laugh. If you see me around..usually in the kitchen “working”, feel free to say hi or ask me anything and I can point you in the right direction if I cannot help myself.
Can help with: business support, advice & strategy, digital product development, connecting you with local businesses
“My focus and time is spent working with small and large companies developing their digital strategy and products as well as having a passion for developing my own products and start-ups. The buddy system is a great idea as I have a lot of experience with the building, the way things work at the moment and the issues that we would like to solve together. If you need a little help with getting settled in or with your business, a general ‘coffee/cake sit down’ would be great. From there, if it’s needed we can explore how I can assist further or make introductions to people internally and externally to help in any way I can’I do all kinds of things but passion for working with small and large companies developing their digital strategy and products. Also a passion for developing my own products and start-ups. In general though, for me, the buddy system is a good idea as I have a lot of experience with the building, the way things work at the moment and the issues that we would like to solve together, a general, coffee/cake sit down would be ace and then for me, the exploration of how I can help further or make introductions to people internally and externally to help in any way I can”
