Mattix Design win competitive Hull 2017 tender

“It’s great for us as a young business to be involved in such a historical event for the city, and I’m sure it will provide many opportunities for us in the future.” explains Matt Wildbore of Mattix Design, on their win of a tender for the Hull 2017 City of Culture celebrations.

After graduating from East Riding College with a 2:1 in Contemporary Media Design & Production, Matt gained over 2 years of experience working for a few local award-winning design agencies. In early 2016 he decided to go freelance and set up his own design business at C4DI, Mattix Design, to allow him to have more creative freedom over his work and have the chance to develop solid client relationships, something he was never able to properly achieve before.

The latest development for Mattix Design comes in the form of a year-long contract with Hull 2017; after applying for the tender before Christmas he was delighted to hear they got the contract a few days after new year.

Consisting of providing campaign materials throughout the year, the contract will draw on Matt’s creative expertise, creating flyers, banners, billboards and digital marketing material. Their first project is the ‘Look Up’ campaign which has already kicked off with the ‘Blade’ installation in Queen Victoria Square: a wind turbine blade suspended above the pedestrian walking area.

The 'Blade' project currently in place in Queen Victoria Square until mid-March 2017.
