Meet the C4DI Members Providing Valuable Work Experience Through Workfinder

In June 2020, we announced the launch of our partnership with Workfinder, an award-winning platform that links young people with high-growth businesses. The partnership allowed 50 of our members to sign up for free, courtesy of Barclays Eagle Labs. We caught up with some of the members who have been using Workfinder over the last year.

“Many members from across the Eagle Labs network told us that finding talent at any time is difficult and can limit their business growth. This was even more challenging when resources and budgets are limited during the unprecedented times we are facing now,” Amy Morgan, Barclays Eagle Labs.

“In summer thousands of students faced missing out on vital work experience. So Eagle Labs teamed up with Workfinder to connect businesses to this pool of untapped student talent so that they could get vital work done give young people valuable real-life work experience.”

Workfinder matches relevant students to work for you remotely on projects such as lead generation, marketing support, market research, social media, product testing and many more.

Bob Barnes, Financial Modelling, Low Carbon Expert and Founder of Peak Earth, is one of the C4DI members who signed up to Workfinder:

“I have taken on two people through the Workfinder programme and given them jobs, which I could do myself but don’t have the time for. I am finding that they bring ideas and approaches which I would never have thought of and I am delighted with what they are producing. Now I am considering taking on another six placements for another project. The Workfinder programme is a relatively low-risk approach to expanding my company.”

Chris Fenton, Director of Octovision, which specialises in aerial photography and cinamatography, also agrees that “the support [from Workfinder] has been amazing and the quality of the applications very high. There’s some amazing talent out there.”
