Discover your digital career at C4DI!

Students are being urged to attend a special event spotlighting the vast array of exciting careers available in digital technology.

Hull’s Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI) tech hub is holding a Digital Expo at Ron Dearing UTC aimed at putting potential future tech stars in the picture about the amazing opportunities digital careers offer.

The event will feature many of the region’s leading and most innovative tech companies, who will showcase how digital skills are vital to their success.

The Digital Expo will feature in-demand skills in fields such as software development, programming, virtual reality, 3D printing and much more.

Companies represented at the event will include major local employers such as communications provider KCOM, digital brand management business Sonoco Trident and global packaging company SGS. There will also be a range of growing digital businesses, including 3D printing pioneer NFireLabs, social media specialist Bloom Creative and TH3 Design.

The event is aimed at students in Years 8 and 9 (aged 12 to 14), to help to inform their GCSE option choices.

David Keel, Chair of C4DI and Hull’s Digital Ambassador, said: “There are so many opportunities in digital technology – the future for the region’s young people has never been more exciting.

“We feel it’s really important to let students know about these opportunities at a time when they are coming up to making their GCSE choices, so they can select the right pathways to develop the skills employers need.

“This event brings together a wide range of companies who are doing brilliant things with digital technology at a venue that has become established as the heart of Hull’s tech community.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to find out all the need to know, in one place, to set themon the right track to becoming the region’s digital stars of the future.”

The event is being held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, September 18, at Ron Dearing UTC Kingston Square Hull HU1 3HF. Students and their parents can book to attend at
