The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer who is as passionate about product development and creating compelling user experiences as they are about coding. 

As part of our cross-functional product development team, you’ll work on projects that engage users and specialists from a variety of backgrounds. You’ll be involved throughout the product development life-cycle - in projects that start at the drawing board and progress right through to delivery. You will need to be confident advising technology strategy, think through and implement UI and UX best practice to deliver compelling, intuitive user experiences. We are looking for someone resourceful, with leadership qualities and is enthusiastic about solving problems and pushing technology forward.

We have a supportive team culture and strive to create exceptional products, so hunger to learn and bring fresh ideas to the team is an essential prerequisite for this role. The role is for a full-time software developer with an experience-based salary between £30,000 - £45,000.

Job Description

Overview

Senior Software Developer (full stack). Minimum of 3 Years experience.

Develop new products and features, improve existing products and features.

Location is the Centre for Digital Innovation (Hull, UK). 

Product focused- you take pride in building beautiful, intuitive products and have a keen appreciation of UI and UX. 

-      Build and rapidly prototype ideas (lean startup approach)

-      Agile software development experience

-      Interest in product development 

 Problem solver– you take on challenges, research and solve problems to push technology forward. 

-      Motivated to bring the latest thinking and techniques and technologies to the team.

 Awesome communication skills– ability to break down complex topics and explain them to non-techies!

 Leadership– ability to run a team and mentor junior developers. Advise on technology, UI & UX decisions. You'll have the opportunity to have impact on both what we build, and how we build it. You’ll help shape the companies future and will contribute toward a vibrant company culture.

 Efficient– you’re effective in a fast-paced environment, and can translate your skills into new processes that your team will follow.

 Passionate– you’re super passionate about what you do and are happy to think up solutions and kick ideas around at odd hours. You love learning and sharing new things and want to be part of a rapidly evolving startup.

 Skills

 ·      C# .NET (3-5 years)

·      SQL Server

·      Web technologies including ASP.NET MVC, CSS, Javascript, etc. and additional frameworks for web-based applications.

·      Experience of Software Design, Development, Software Testing, and platforms to assist with this.

·      Experience of Source Control, Deployment and Continuous Integration processes an advantage.

·      JavaScript

·      GitLab/Github understanding

·      Knowledge of common JavaScript frameworks.
