JOB DESCRIPTION – BUSINESS ANALYST (BI)

JOB TITLE: Business Analyst (BI)

Reports to: Head of Business Systems

Position: Permanent

Job Location: Hull, East Yorkshire

Hours of Work: 37

Salary: Depending on experience

Holiday Days: 25

Experiences:

·       A minimum of 12 months’ experience in the design, development and testing of data visualisation solutions (such as QlikView, Tableau or Power BI)

·       A minimum of 12 months’ experience in managing business requirements to deliver new reporting solutions

·       Good knowledge of writing SQL Queries is essential

 

 

Job Responsibilities and Major Activities

Development & Support (Management Reporting)

·       Understand business requirements to deliver Business Intelligence Solutions that produce actionable insights that allow the business to make strategic business decisions

·       Provide documentation, training and support to individuals using Business Intelligence Solutions

·       Work with other analysts to understand integration points with other systems

·       Troubleshoot technical and data issues within the Business Intelligence Solutions

·       Strong business acumen, with experience of managing stakeholders and influencing strategy by providing end solutions

·       To participate and lead IT projects in line with corporate standards – Project Management experience advantageous.

·       To provide a ‘cohesive link’ between IT, senior management, key customers and suppliers

·       To maintain a high level of credibility within the business user community at all levels, through demonstrating good understanding of IT systems and effective communication

Requirements

Essentials:

Desirables:

·       Knowledge of data visualisation tools (such as QlikView, Tableau or Power BI)

·       Ability to write SQL queries

·       Good Customer Facing & Communication skills

·       Proficient in MS-Office

·       Flexibility

·        

·       Design and develop QlikView and QlikSense reports/solutions

·       Knowledge of migrating existing Crystal Reports into QlikView/NPrinting

·       Strong data management skills

·       SQL and QlikView development experience

·       Any knowledge of an ERP is beneficial, whilst SAP would be an advantage

·       Knowledge of Salesforce would be advantageous

·       Project Management Experience

·       Basic Java knowledge to support ETL applications an advantage
